OK,

not as much stuff up here as I'd wanted, but I've not managed to redo the stuff I was doing last night. Regardless, I've got a lot to do, and didn't get as much done as I'd wanted over the last few days (first time I've had off really since christmas, so, hey.

I fiddled about with the cogs idea, but I think sticking with maps will be easily the most productive, & messing around with other stuff rather than concentrating on getting this up to scratch was a mistake that cost me quite a bit of time.

I'm going to keep working the maps up, and incorporating text into them. Some I'll produce over the next few days won't be based on the full faces, just sections of, or the map of brighton I did earlier. The stark black and white is by far the best for legibility, cartainly at smaller scales, which will be important for digital artwork. I also think there's scope to add full colour for websites etc, hence the start of a google maps copy; I'll keep working that up.

I'm going to mock up 2 CD cases over the weekend: one will be a compass, using a jewel case, as I mentioned - that came from thinking how I could use the jewel case itself to make the product appealing. It would fit nicely if bundled with a map-style poster or whatnot.
The second, after I talked to you, was to design a digipack, and making it like a fold-out map - so basic cover (like ordnance survey maybe, all pink, white lettering, section of map on front?), booklet (fold-out maybe, rather than stapled?) either fixed or in sleeve on inner, and maybe retain the CD as a compass dial. We'll see what it's like anyway.

As I said on the phone, I'd like to show you a mocked-up final product - I can keep shoving sketches at you, but without an objective idea of what I'm thinking about, all you're going to get is pretty sketches.
